So what is a Kurta? Kurtas are collarless, loose fitting (generally) shirts that go up to the knees.They are worn to protect against humid and hot climate in India. This is a traditional wear also and is also worn for casual purpose and for comfort. Kurtas are made of light material like cotton and silk and can be worn by both men and women. For women it is called as kurtis and has slight difference.
Kurtas are of different kinds some of which are wedding kurtas, fancy kurtas, high-low kurtas, cotton kurtas, printed kurtas, plain kurtas (normally), pathani kurtas, half-sleeves kurtas, V-neck kurtas etc.
